The violin duo Chapeau Klez plays own arrangements of Jewish Klezmer music and folk songs. On the album “Karjalasta” you will find sad and joyful melodies from different regions of Europe, some popular songs like the “Bulgar from Odessa” but also some rare gems, that are not heard very often. Klezmer music was born in the 15th century and was mostly played by traveling musicians called “Klezmorim”. Klezmer music combines feelings of hopelessness and sorrow with happiness and joy of living.
